Sun Star 1:12 diecast model of the #37 Morris Mini Cooper S as driven to victory by Paddy Hopkirk in the 1964 Monte Carlo Rally. The Mini, even today, is perhaps most remembered for its successes on the Monte. It first competed in the 1964 event. Hopkirk trailed the monstrous 4.7 litre Ford Falcon of Bo Ljungfeldt after the first couple of stages, but on the long overnight mountain section, the deep snow favoured the light and nimble Mini, and Hopkirk took the lead. From here on in the Irishman couldn't be caught, and the plucky little Mini went on to take a famous victory. Measures 26cm in length.
